Pricing and payment
How much does an SMS cost?
You pay in credits: one credit sends one SMS page to one number, on any network in Ghana. Current prices are on the pricing page -- bundles work out cheaper per credit. For standard text messages: up to 160 characters = 1 credit, 306 = 2, 459 = 3, and 612 = 4. Messages with emojis or special Unicode characters fit up to 70 characters for 1 credit, 134 for 2, 201 for 3, and 268 for 4. Use Check Cost before sending to see the exact price.
What’s the difference between a bundle and credit? Do credits expire?
A bundle is a fixed pack of credits at a volume discount that lasts 90 days. With our Renew-to-Extend Guarantee, buying any new bundle before your expiration date automatically rolls over 100% of your unused credits for another 90 days from purchase — zero wasted credits. Credit is any amount you choose, in GHS, and never expires. When you send, bundle credits are used first and your credit balance covers the rest.
How do I top up?
On any SMS dashboard page, tap Top Up on the SMS Credit tile and choose a bundle or a credit amount (GHS 5 to GHS 5,000). See the step-by-step guide.
How can I pay?
With Mobile Money on any network, or with a Visa or Mastercard card, at checkout.
Am I charged for messages that fail?
No. If the network rejects a number when you send, the credits for that number are refunded to your balance automatically.
Resellers and agencies
How do I become an SMS reseller or manage client sub-accounts?
Every UelloSend account has instant access to our built-in Agency & Reseller Studio with zero setup fees or licensing costs. From your SMS dashboard, open Agency & Reseller to create client sub-accounts, allocate credit quotas from your master wallet, whitelist client Sender IDs, and issue scoped client API keys. You purchase wholesale bundles at discounted rates and set your own prices for clients.
Can I reclaim credits allocated to a client?
Yes. You can reclaim unused credits from any sub-account at any time with 1 click. Unused credits return immediately to your master spendable balance, ensuring zero trapped capital.
Do client API keys draw from my master wallet?
No. Dedicated sub-account API keys strictly deduct from that specific client’s allocated quota. Once their quota is depleted, sends are paused until you allocate more, protecting your master funds from overages.
Sending and delivery
Are messages sent instantly?
Yes. Messages go out as soon as you send them, unless you schedule them for later. Delivery can occasionally be delayed by the mobile networks.
What affects message delivery?
- The recipient’s phone is off, out of coverage, or its inbox is full.
- The SIM is inactive, or the number is wrong.
- Congestion or technical problems on the recipient’s network.
- The recipient has blocked promotional messages.
Can I use emoji or special characters?
Yes! Emojis and Unicode characters are supported. Including an emoji or special character automatically switches message encoding to Unicode (UCS-2), fitting up to 70 characters in a single message (and 67 characters per part for multi-part messages) compared to 160 characters for standard GSM-7 text. The dashboard alerts you and provides a 1-click Auto-Cleanse to GSM-7 tool if you want to remove emojis and save credits.
How many people can I send to at once?
Up to 5,000 numbers per send, and a contact group can hold up to 5,000 contacts. To reach more people, split them across groups.
How do I see whether my messages were delivered?
Open History in the SMS dashboard. You can filter by date and status and export to CSV. Developers can use the delivery endpoint.
Can I send to numbers outside Ghana?
No. UelloSend sends to Ghanaian mobile numbers only.
Sender IDs
What is a sender ID?
The name your messages come from, e.g. “SHOPNOW” instead of a phone number. It can be up to 11 characters.
How do I register a sender ID?
Open Sender IDs, tap Request Sender ID and fill in the form. You can use it once it’s approved. See the guide.
Why was my sender ID rejected?
Usually because it could be mistaken for another organisation -- a bank, a telco, mobile money or a government body -- or the details didn’t match the business. The rejection note tells you why; fix it and resubmit.
Account
I had an account on the old UelloSend site. What do I do?
Log in with the same email and password. Your balance, approved sender IDs, contacts and API keys have been moved over, and existing API integrations keep working.
Do I need a business certificate?
No. But accounts used for fraud or spam are blocked, whatever credit is left on them.
I didn’t get the verification email.
Check your spam or promotions folder. If it isn’t there, email support@uellosend.com.
I forgot my password.
On the login page, tap Forgot password?, enter your email and open the link we send you to set a new password. Open the link on the same device and browser you requested it from.
Is the platform always available?
Yes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If something isn’t working, let support know.
